All events are open to members and non-members.
Our three social events, the Spring Frolic, Tramps Tuck-in and Strawberry Tea, are just that – an opportunity for you and your Beardies to meet up with old friends and to make new ones. We have fun games, puppy walks, veterans’ parades and demonstrations. There are always people on hand for advice whether for training, grooming or just generally living with a Beardie. The social events are also ideal for anyone considering getting a Beardie to come along and meet some for real and talk to their owners. There is no need to book in advance – just turn-up on the day and enjoy the fun!
We also offer the opportunity to take either the Beardie Collie Working Tests or Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen test at our social events – check the individual event details for further information.
Our two shows, the Championship Show and the Open Show are run under Kennel Club rules and regulations. We run two rings at the Championship Show and as well as awarding the marvelous Baillie of Bothkennar bronze Best in Show Trophy, we also present our annual points trophies. The Open Show offers breed showing with limited obedience classes. Spectators are welcome at both shows – there is no entrance fee to come along and watch (there is a small charge for any dogs brought in).
We try and run at least one educational seminar or practical workshop each year and have covered a variety of subjects such as grooming, Tellington Touch, understanding canine body language and Auto-immune diseases. Our aim is to meet the needs of our Members, so if there is a subject you feel would be useful, please let us know.
Refreshments are available at all the events and our sales stand is always there for you to stock up on all your Beardie bits and bobs – plus there is usually a raffle or tombola.
